BROOKSVILLE - Authorities are looking for a man who held up a pawn shop
Monday.
The Hernando County Sheriff's Office was called shortly after 5:30 p.m.
to the Cash for Gold store at 16340 Cortez Blvd.
A store clerk told deputies a man entered the store, displayed a handgun
and demanded cash, according to a media release.
The suspect left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash, deputies
said. It is not known whether he fled the area on foot or by car.
The suspect was described as a black male, 6 feet to 6 foot 3 inches
tall, 150 pounds and cleanly shaven with a short haircut. He was wearing
blue jeans and a white T-shirt with a blue design on the front, deputies
said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Hernando County Crime
Stoppers hotline at 1-866-TIPS.
Callers who use the hotline are eligible for a reward up to $1,000.
