I am about to change my computer to a new one. If I start Outlook Express in
my new computer, will I still be able to see all of the past posts?
Thanks,
Kim

?ALL of the past posts??? ALL of them are BIG number!
I can recall some of just the last 10 years of the postings, and it's quite
a large number.

News groups are stored to some extent on your news group server.
If you start fresh, you can get back to whatever the server is saving.

Thanks,
Kim

Don't worry about it. They (all the posts in text newsgroups) are
archived at Google Groups. The ones still on your ISP's news server
will show up on your reader.

Thanks guys....I guess using the term ALL is a little bit daunting. I meant
all of the ones within a month or so. I really only pay attention to the
ones up to about 1 week old anyways.
Good to know that my isp will keep a few around.

If you decipher the .rc file used by your browser, and delete the
msg numbers read, you will be able to see any that your newsserver
has kept, which may be lots, or none! Look for the last file changed
in the program folder.
