Newbie: What is a Jaycar kit?

Hi all,

I have seen quite a few references to a Jaycar Kit. What is it?
I think / know it has something to do with SmartCard programming /
reading / writing, but why would one want to do that?

Also, I have seen quite a few references to Jerrold boxes - is it
related to the Jaycar kit / SmartCards?

What is all the activity / fuss with these two lately?

Cheers,

Dave

Dave,

The answer to your questions is right in front of you... your computer
keyboard. Try poking "jaycar kits" or "jerrold boxes" into Google and
you will get all the information needed to determine everything you want
to know. Of course, if you have a specific kit or box then you need to
do some sleuthing of your own when you find the right pages.

Jaycar is the name of the company that sells kits, electronic
components(plugs,
switches, etc...) for the hobbyist.
Similar to Dick Smith Electronics.
They also sell the Smartcard programmer you are talking about in kit form.
Shops are in most capital cities and sell by mail order as well.
Have a look in the phone book for your nearest store.
Next time if in doubt try a google search.

Boozo.
