Hey There! -

Thought I would lend a little help for you on your dvd hookup. By th
way.... congradulations on your dvd purchase! Your going to love it.
You have the RF modulator... thats good. And you should already hav
everything else you need. Here is how you need to hook-up.
Connect the cable (coax) coming from the wall to the VCR IN, connec
another coax cable from the VCR OUT to the IN on the RF modulator.
Connect another coax cable from the RF Modulator out to the in on th
TV. The RF modulator will have a switch on it for channel 3 or 4, mak
sure you know which channel it is set to so you can find it later whe
we turn it all on. Next just connect the red white and yellow cable
from the dvd player to the RF Modulator. Plug the RF Modulator in an
your ready to go. Now the RF Modulator will automatically turn on whe
it senses a signal from your DVD player. Until then the cable and VC
will come through like they should.

Next, make sure the TV, VCR, and DVD player are all turned off. Tur
on the TV, your cable should be comming through. Then put the tv o
channel 3 or 4 whichever channel your vcr usually comes through on.
Try the vcr, turn it on, put a tape in, something, just to make sur
its working. After that all you have to do is try the dvd player. An
all that requires is putting the tv on the channel from the back of th
RF Modulator, that will be channel 3 or 4 just like your vcr. The
just turn on the DVD Player and try it out. After youve watched you
DVD just turn off the DVD player and the tv will automatically com
back on!

This should clear up the installation for you.

Let me know if you have any problems.

Hope this helps!!

Hello, I hooked it up the way you told me to and when I turn on the dvd
player the screen on the tv gets fuzzy is this because the vcr power is
on
the tv is so old that it only goes up to channel 20 and I have the vcr
hooked up so I can use it instead of the tv for channel changes
I bet I will have to shut the vcr off when watching a dvd does this
sound right thanks

You may have to turn off the vcr. Try making sure the tv and the vc
are on the same channel setting as the back of the RF modulator. Le
me know if it is working.

Your image is going fuzzy because either the tv is not set to the righ
channel, or the vcr is on and not set to the right channel. Let us kno
if your still having trouble.

I once had 2 VCRs, and a TV without A/V inputs, so I put the A/V from the
one VCR (actually only a player) into the A/V of the second VCR, and was
moderately surprised to see that that video (aux) came through the 2nd
VCR's RF modulator just fine.

So, keep the VCR connected to the TV just the way it was, and put the A/V
from the DVD into the A/V (maybe called aux) input of the VCR, and if
you're lucky, that should do it.

i.e. one new connection: (well, two, audio and video) DVD to VCR A/V in.

If _that_ doesn't work, then put the RF modulator on the DVD, and put the
RF modulator's output to the RF input of the VCR. In that case, the VCR
should be off to pass the signal through. And if you turn on the VCR,
you'll be able to tune in the DVD on 3 or 4.

Good Luck!
Rich
