Newbie Interface Material?

Hi everyone,
I am a complete newbie to electronics but was interested in creating basic
stuff that would interface to IBMs, Macs and old retro computers like the
Commodore 64. Are there any good sites to begin my learning???

There's loads of info on hooking things up to a parallel port out
there, do a search. I'm sure many of the projects could be adapted to
whatever freaky interfaces your old kit has. I find a linux box and
parallel port to be the easiest for mucking around, though Win9x is OK
too if you've got the development tools.

I second the parallel port advice. And there's nothing wrong with DOS
for this sort of stuff, especially if it comes standard on your old
PC. I'm not sure how generic this is outside the IBM-compatible
world. Lots of port information at <www.lvr.com>.
