New to usegroup - question

Hello,

I have been searching all over for a simple photo led circuit that can
act as a counter. Counts one every time the beam is broken. Can
anybody direct me to such a simple circuit on the internet?

another user with a similar username here?

You are correct that I am looking to build a circuit that will trigger
a 12v meter everytime the LED beam is broken to the opposing photo
transister.

It will not be difficult, but there are probably as many ways of
implementing it as there are contributors to this ng. You will find
plenty of circuits for counters using Google. Also circuits for the
first part. You just have to tie them together

In this case he might be referring to an LED used as a
photodetector, a photodiode (in either photovoltaic or
reverse-biased mode) excited by an LED, or maybe even an LDR excited
by an LED.

Unless he states what he's working with, offering suggestions is

I suggest you learn how Usenet works before getting in a paddy about who said what

A good place to start would be to tell us if this is some existing counter you
already have and its type e.g. electro-mechanical / electronic or whether this is a
new project from scratch.
