New \'scope...

I have to buy a new CRO for my part time offsider to use. The old
analogue Tektronix he uses has failed in one channel. I thought I\'d just
buy a new digi-scope as they are pretty well priced now. These are the
two I am considering. Both are available for less than AUS$350.00, when
purchased from an Aussie source.

The Hantek has 12 bit resolution, so appears, on the surface, to be a
better thing. There are some reports of poor software issues with
earlier Hanteks, though they may have been solved.

What are people\'s thoughts? It probably doesn\'t matter much, as it\'s
basic audio measurements that will be it\'s purpose. Other alternatives
or suggestions are welcome.

FWIW: My current bench \'scope is the very nice Rigol DS1054Z.

You may want to consider repairing the Tek. SUggest contacting the tekscopes group.io as they may know of most likely problems and some easy fixes.
IDK/have not used the scopes you have posted, although a colleague has the siglent and he likes it.
I have the Rigol model you have and would endorse that one. Get the hacks to increase the BW. They work well on my scope.
Good luck

**I will, eventually, repair the Tek. I\'ve owned it a long time and
rather like it. However, my problems are more immediate and I don\'t have
time to repair the Tek ATM. Time is money and all that.

**I will check with the Tek experts and see what transpires. The Siglent
seems to have a better rep than Hantek. That said, the technology is
evolving rapidly.
