Folks looking for Linux-based EDA tools will be interested to know
that a new release of gEDA has been placed on the web. GEDA is
an open-source EDA project incorporating many tools used for board
design. Tools offered by the project include schematic capture,
attribute management, netlisting to may different formats, SPICE
simulation, PCB layout, Gerber viewing, Verilog simulation, and
digital waveform viewing. The project homepage is at:

http://www.geda.seul.org/

Amongst other new features of this release is a CD image of the entire
suite bundled with a GUI-based install wizard which automates and
manages the install process. (The installer works on RH9 Workstation
and above, SuSE 9.1 Pro and above, and late model Debian
installations, amongst other distributions.) As always, you can also
download and build the source yourself if you want. RPMs and Deb
packages will become available over the next few days. The download
page is at:

http://www.geda.seul.org/download.html

The new version is 20041228. Come to the Penguin! :)
