Fluke has a heap of cool new stuff, including this:

plus a nice handheld DVM/insulation tester, and a $99 IR thermometer.

Too bad they seem to be drifting out of the precision benchtop DVM
biz. Thank goodness for Keithley!

Some of still recall the benchtop Fluke vacuum-tube differential
voltmeter as the ultimate instrument. This newfangled DVM stuff, it's
just a passing fad!

Hello Tim,

Some of still recall the benchtop Fluke vacuum-tube differential
voltmeter as the ultimate instrument. This newfangled DVM stuff, it's
just a passing fad!

Sometimes I still use that old Eico tube meter. About 15 years ago the
needle of the actual meter fell off. When I wanted to fasten it the
needle disintegrated into powder between my fingers :-(

So, now it has a piece of a straw probably making it the only Eico meter
with a blue needle. Had to reduce the counter balance and that made it
way faster than before. Now you can "see" any LF modulation on a signal.

Regards, Joerg
