In an ironic twist, I thought I'd briefly come back to an almost extinct platform (usenet) to mention the release of an almost extinct thing - A NEW Australian Electronics Magazine!
Albeit in digital and print.

Wow, never thought I'd see another new mag.

Dave.

Reports of the death of Usenet are greatly exaggerated. Well, would
you accept "slightly overstated"?

New mags? Yep, I've seen a few. Being of an age, that includes ETI,
AEM, Silicon Chip, and even the very short-lived Australian edition of
Elektor (who remembers the public stoush between them and EA?).

Perhaps there were others that I missed or have forgotten.

Hmm, let me check the stats.
Seems like an average of about 100 posts a month on here compared to about 22,000 a month on my EEVblog forum.
Less than 0.5% of the post traffic.
Pretty dead :->

I see I still rank 6th in all time posts :-D

** There are lies, damn lies and statistics.

Your forum is 100% boring as bat shit.

While usenet is still a spectacular den of iniquity.

You're SUCH a wanker.

Which is why I check here most every day but wouldn't go near his blog forum
if I were paid to do so.

(Ok I might as money's really tight but I wouldn't go there if I *weren't*
paid to ...)

Same here.
