Hi,
some time back we discussed how to attach a netlist to a symbol for
simulation with cadence. This process involved including the black-box
netlist in analog artist via the model include dialog. This procedure
work well in one-man environments.
I am now looking for a way to convince the netlister to accept a
textual view from within the database.
If I import a netlist as "netlist" view with, say cdlIn, I get a
cellview where symbolic representation of all submodules are placed on
top of each other with the interconnection information stored in the
database. I am now hoping to find a way to create a textual cellview,
name it "netlist" (or whatever), open it with a text editor and place a
valid spectre netlist in there. (The exact same netlist as I would have
included in the model include dialog). Now during the netlisting this
textual netlis view is included inline in the final netlist created by
analog artist.
Andrew mentioned that this could be possible but there would be a bit
of work. What work and how much? I need some indicators where to start
looking.
I see a problem in a larger environment to provide a black-box netlist
through the model include. The info must be available through the
library browser, and the netlist should be as easy to create as if the
schematic had been created with composer.
