Need transformer

I've lost the transformer that came with my USB hub. Anyone know where I can
get hold of a simple plug and go 6v 2.1amp with a standard large female pin
connecter, neg outer plus inner if this makes sense.

I've tried Maplin, nothing doing, yet I'm told this is a pretty basic bit of
kit.

Try Argos, they sometimes can come up trumps.

It's a pity that Tandy (Radio Shack) have closed down in UK.

But looking at the Maplin catalogue CD, there are a couple that
come close - the PJ85G and the PL61R both of which are
5V 2A units. Both are SMPS while the latter is in wall-wart
format and may be amenable to having its output voltage
tweaked up a bit.

Mmmf. Don't mourn them. In Australia and the USA (at least), Rat Shack
has been nothing but a source for cellphones and crappy-quality
consumer electronics for years.

That's not the point, no one is twisting your arm to buy the rubbish. But
having a local store that carries a broad range of components and
test gear of hobbyist quality is a useful resource.

In UK, the stores were bought out and are just cell phone outlets now.
