Hi;

Is there anyone that can give me the Sony part number
for the capstan motor in a SLV-750HF ?

I'm fairly certain that the bearing is good. It shows
no sign of failure.

Thanks in advance,
Rick

Exactly what are the symptoms?

Hello,

According to the manual (page 137) the capstan motor (location M902) is
type DC U-26K, Sony part number 8-835-489-11. If you don't know where
to get one, I use Andrews Electronics in California, phone 800-289-0300,
fax 800-289-0301. There are many other Sony parts distributors in the
US, Andrews is just the one I use. The service manual covers the -751HF
and -900HF as well, in case you have a parts machine available to you,
or want to look for one.

I get a blue screen in play mode.

If I tap on the bottom pcb directly under the
capstan motor, the cap. speed stablizes for a second, then black to blue.

I have resoldered the board and connectors.
I have also resolder the connectors and the components on the cap. motor.

I can dectect no "play" in the bearing.
There's no "swish-swish" sound or no disearnable rubbing.

I definitely would look closely at all the solder connections underneath.
That cap motor plugs into a large "connect" board, and I've seen bad solder
where the motor plugs in.
