Need datasheets for maplin power supply

I have accidently thrown the datasheet of the maplin ge84f
power supply kit. I tried searching the maplin site but it
doesn't come up, I think it is discontinued. This was
a wonderfull kit because it took as input unregulated *dc*
whereas most kits at the moment seem to take in *ac*
which reqires an additional bridge and capacitor (if you
see what I mean). Looks like it is lost foreever, it is at
least 10 years old.

GE84F was their L200C 2A regulator kit which I bought myself many years ago.
The circuit was a standard datasheet one except for a schottky power diode
on the output which was a *bad* thing as the diode forward voltage varies
with current f***ing up the carefully regulated voltage.

If http://eu.st.com/stonline/books/pdf/docs/1318.pdf doesn't sort out your
problems, contact me, seb at mexbro dot co dot uk, I have Maplin Magazine
Oct 91 with the circuit & pcb, etc.

Hmmm, it does look like a bad idea, doesn't it, well done for seeing this.
Btw one of the designs in the 1318.pdf does have the diode as well,
it is titled Constant Current Battery Charger, so maybe it was intended to
be
included only as that (in the Maplin circuit). I have the circuit as well, I
threw
the documents which came with it, but I can see from the circuit board that
it is as you say the standard application from the L200C user guide. Thanks.
