Need Clamp-on ammeter

I'd like to find a decent clamp-on ammeter to test and adjust the
circuits in my house breaker box. I doubt I need more than 50 amps, but
I would like a small & nimble probe to fit in that wiring maze. Is it
possible to get a max reading model so I can read the max amps on each
circuit? I'd like a cheap one, maybe $100 if possible.

Any good suggestions as to what is availiable?

Have you checked Harbor Freight, Sears, or MCM Electronics? Some
analog clamp-ons cost only $25, but I once saw a digital AC/DC at
Sears for $45 (maybe with discount coupon), but it wasn't true RMS and
needed AAA batteries. MCM has an AC/DC clamp-on adapter for regular
meters (1mV per amp), #72-7164, $37, but it has to be zeroed manually.

The Fluke T600 is about $129, but it does not need to be clamped-
merely straddles the wire to be measured. Measures resistance from
1-1000 ohms, voltage to 1-600 AC/DC and current .1-600 AC/DC. And can
be dropped a fair distance without breaking.

I bought a A.W.Sperry DSA-400 some years ago from Home Depot. Less
than $100. Got it to monitor my water pump current. Works great. This
one has a data hold feature. Other one available that measures peak
current.
