actualy 2 incase I break one I learned my lesson,
http://www.powertipusa.com/pdf/pg320240c.pdf
its quite a bit larger than what I have but might be usefull for other
things such as graphicaly displaying a signal,
it has 4 data bits, 2 clocks and 2 other signals,
but theres no explanation of how the data and control lines are used
on the datasheet or their website,
any idea if I'm right in assuming the 2 clocks are for col and row like the
display I have ?

Hi,
I used an lcd display in my junk box i got from a surplus place ages
ago,
(greenweld I think it was, but they have changed considerably now,)
to display some debug info, it worked ok untill a loose wire zapped it
wich
wasnt
even conected to anything zapped it somehow, now it draws much current
from
the -10v vlcd supply.
its an epson eg2401, 256x64, its quite a nice size but I cant seem to
any
surplus places that sell it or something like it,
its to connect to an mcu so I only have limited number of lines
available to
drive it,
there are some small ones on ebay and some have 8 data bits+ wich is too
much,
a serial one would be ideal.
any one know of any places preferably in the uk wich might have
something
that would do as a replacement ?
thanks

Most parallel 8 bit LCD's can be configured in 4bit mode you will still
need a clock and an enable line however.
