Need a lock-up circuit for a 12 pump/level control

Its for a fluid tank that will be mounted in a car, and be kept
full using a level switch and a windshield washer fluid pump. So the
closed/low level signal from the level switch needs to be conditioned
so that the pump isn't triggered on by normal sloshing around, but
only by the switch staying closed for a minute or so. I am thinking
this might be something that a 555 timer chip could handle?
