NEC vcr model VNG-29.

After repairing the fault in the p/s (see below),
I found the vcr is painfully slow to FF and rewind.
I think the motor is running slow.

Can anyone assist please?

VCR may appear dead with no display when cold.

After warming, with a tape playing, the sound may be
from the tape, but the picture is from the tuner.

Caps in p/s
CP19 (1000uF 10v)
cp25 (100uF 10v)
cp21 (47uF 50v)

Check idler. Plastic bends slightly with time and causes similar problems.

If motor runs slow, it would appear in PLAY mode as well.
