Evening all,

Was given this monitor in exchange for some work I did.
Did not come with manuals etc.

Anybody have any experience with them as to reguard their
reliability, life etc.

There is a switch on the front panel that is marked 'colour'
with 3 posistions of 'n' 1' '2'. Have no clue what its for
So i left it in the middle :)

Regards,
Mitch

colour is probably colour temperature, or could be user definable
colour balance, brightness contrast presets.
Did you want any specific info? Have you got the monitor working?

The Monitor is as sharp as a tack. Geometry is also great.

Still have no clue what the colour switch does, as it has no effect
on the VGA display, Maybe its for analogue mode?
to change colour temp i.e. 6500D etc

I note that the colour temp of most monitors is above 'illuminant D'
This monitor is on a par with other monitors
Is there a site where I could maybe download the manual etc?

Tube still has lots of bit left in it.......

Regards,
Mitchell

I was given a 6FGp in the last year, and found the service manual for
the 6FG here http://schema99.host.sk/my_page/monitory/n.htm
You will find the answer to your question and more, as it explains all
of the controls and what they are for, and also explains how to enter
the advanced parts of the users menu. I was very impressed with the
6FGp, as I could not find a single bad solder joint in the entire
monitor. However, due to its age I would guess, I ended up replacing
dozens of high/borderline high esr electros. The 6FGp was showing its
age as far as the tube goes, but was still bright and reasonably
sharp, after adjusting the focus.

Oops - the download you want is the one for the
NEC - JC 2141UMA/B/RR + JC2142UMA
PS - this site has VERY SLOW download speeds, so it will take quite
some time to get this file.

Oops - a slip of the tongue there, figuratively speaking - check your
