Obviously there is something faulty in the circuitry..... a shorted or leaky
cap?.... semiconductor?..... lopt?.... that is drawing too much current from
the power supply..... or the B+ regulation has failed causing excessive B+.
I would suggest that you perform further tests to determine where the fault
is. Follow the circuitry path before and after the resistor.
