I have a Nec FS-5111 that just has a horizontal line
going through the middle of it. the vertical has collapsed.
Sound is perfect.
Has anyone got a quick tip/hint on a fix for this?

There is no quick fix. It can be the vertical deflection deflection IC,
loss of vertical drive from the scan gen IC, or some of the support
components that have failed. Common failures are the capacitors in the
vertical deflection area. If any of the caps failed completely, there may
be damage to the output device (IC).

As for your NEC TV, NEC no longer supports replacement parts distribution
for any of their home consumer products. You will have to get all the parts
generically. The general components will be easy to find. Some of the
semiconductors are no longer be available and will be difficult to find.
