NC-Sim Questions

Guest
I am simulating a Xilinx microblaze embedded system using NC-Sim. I am
able to load the design, pick signals of interest, and run the
simulation. Right after running the simulation the console gives two
errors. I don't have them exactly, but it has to do with not being
able to write to the SST2 database. I don't have access to the
simulator right now so I can't provide the exact error codes.

However, things seem to work. I DO NOT know what these errors affect.
The only problem I see is that the simulator seems to lock up after
running for a long time. I need to sim out to 18,000,000 ps. This is
how long it takes the system to initailize to my point of interest. I
understand this is an extreme amount of information. Once the sim is
done, the software is really slow to respond to changes in the waveform
window. If I want to zoom or move the view, I have to wait a few
seconds for the screen to refresh. Sometimes, the simulator seems to
lock up. The little Windows hour glass shows for minutes and the
program gives the "Not Responding" dialog.

Is there a reason why it would do this? It takes about 10 minutes to
run the simulation to that point, so I don't know if I am hitting
memory boundaries or what.

Also, once I do get the simulator to successfully get to this point I
want to be able to save from here and run simulations from this point
forward. I don't care about the initialization. Is there a way to
start from an already-simulated point? That way I wouldn't have to
wait an extra 10 minutes for the part I don't care about to finish.

Long winded....

Thanks!
