NAD 7240PE reciever clipping problem

Hi,
I recently got this NAD reciever in my shop.
The problem is the left power amp channel. When activating "soft
clipping" feature, positive side of the signal is severly clipped very
early, already around 5-10 volts of output.
When deactivating soft clipping it's possible to get the full voltage
swing but it will slowly decrease (clipping earlier) more and more.
Anyone having advice before I start digging??
Best regards
Stefan

Capacitors and resistors in the area of the soft-clip switch. I had a bad
(18K I think)resistor in one of these.

The smart thing to do with a 7240PE is RUN AWAY! That piece of crap is just about the most
unreliable & utterly flammable receivers ever made by anyone. Friends who sold them all tell
me they had about an 80 percent return rate on them, i.e., most of them blew up while the sales
receipt was still warm. 10 watts of heatsink for 40 watts per channel of amp, and they wonder
why they blew up even more than Carver cubes.
