Multiple learning (and forget) remote control?

Generic term perhaps?
Say you have 10 different IR remotes around the house. If one gets
lost, broken, eaten by dog etc, if any replacement can be found it
probably won't have all the menu functions, say.
Is there some sort of multiple bank learning/store remote,
say selecting 1 of 20 banks of 30 buttons, each bank. If one remote has
3 modes of 30 buttons then use up 3 banks. Store to its EEProm , remove
the batteries and physically store somewhere safe, with notes of what
each bank does.
Then if one is lost etc, then purchase a basic learner r/c and transfer
the relevant data.

Dunno, maybe the Logitec Harmony series could help ?
