I'm disassembling an old phone, and I've come across a couple of blue and
yellow unmarked cap-like things that I think might be MOVs. They are about
3cm in diameter, coated in plastic, with two leads on the bottom.
Is there any way to tell? They have fairly low capacitance (327pf for one),
and resistance around 634k. They could just be leaky caps, I guess. The
bottoms look 'fried', the metal cookie is sticking out, but the plastic
isn't melted, leading me to believe this was the original condition of the
things.
The phone worked before I tore it to shreds for parts. Its early 80s
vintage, according to the date code on the ICs.
TIA,
