I have an old Philips 15W unit with a rounded cubical base and four
straight parallel tubes coming out that join at the ends to form the
ionisation path.

** That sounds like a magnetic ballast fluoro lamp with replaceable compact
tube.

Not the same thing at all as the **electronic ballast** 240 volt CFLs that
we are all being forced to use these days.

It's been running fine in the dunny for more than 15 years.

** An outdoor dunny light gets used maybe 25 minutes a day - would have
clocked up only 2000 - 3000 hours in 15 years.

Magnetic ballasts go on for ever and the tubes are of quite different and
much longer life design compared to electronic ballast BC and ES type CFLs.

No comparison exists.

The base measures 40mm cubed and has "Electronic" written on the side,
total length is 20cm.

** Is there a ***standard BC or ES fitting ** on the fucking thing or not
??

Model number and / or pic IS required.

But obviously is NEVER EVER coming from a rabid fucking nut case &
criminal piece of trolling shit like YOU.

FOAD ASAP.

I'm really, really sorry Phil for misleading you about
a totally fictitious CFL unit while you conduct your
spirit quest/mission for the ideal CFL unit...you see
I only made up the story so I could get more attention
from you once more....it's been so long since you rarked
up a storm and used such nasty words to me.

BUT..... the reality of the situation is this:

Phil, like I give a crap about what you think about CFL's. It exists,
it's quite old, it was very expensive at the time and dates from the
mid 90's as that's about the time I went to Uni, which, I might add,
I successfully completed, unlike other failed maths students whose
name begins with P and ends in N, I could mention.

Anyway Phil, why do you keep posting new topics?, are you trying to
build evidence of internet harassment?. BWahahahahahahah

They did make CFLs with replaceable tubes in the mid 90s, I've got a 20W
model that uses an 18W Philips lamp, Condor brand electronic ballast made
in China.

That's the exact tube assembly mine has but it's not detachable.

Your flamage, I'm not joining in.

More OT: someone out there looked at my image page from MSIE 6, yes I saw the
missing file and copied it over, thanks for making it stick out in the logfile
with all those refreshes ;)

Phil has a carefully constructed reality and if anyone diverges from it,
Phil has a temper tantrum as he's unable to cope. As we can see he point
blank refuses to accept any evidence to the contrary and pushing the
point will further will result in tears and angry denial for him. He's
already shifting the goalposts in an effort to keep up with new facts
that contradict his fantasy.

Well aware of his foibles
He still sucks and often fails to win arguments ( blinders do that)
must be a "poofter" trying to move the posts and being so obvious
about it
