missing form field: Setup-->Environment-->Include File

Hi,

According to the Cadence 5.1.41 documentation anasimhelp.pdf page 94,
it seems like there should be an Include File field in the
Setup-->Environment form. However, I can't find this in my Analog
Design Environment window. I've checked that I'm running version
5.1.41, and I don't think I'm using any menu customization file.

Does anyone know how I can enable the Include File feature?

Thanks in advance,
Andrew

Which simulator are you using (Setup->Simulator/Dir/Host..)?

This is probably simulator independent, so it would be useful to
know which you're using.

Thanks for looking into this. I'm using Spectre. It seems like it
should work for Spectre according to another one of your posts,
although it was from 1999

"Include File adds statements to the netlist that are simulator specific. For
example, you might want to add special .model or .lib statements to the netlist
for an HSPICE simulation."
Source: VirtuosoŽ Analog Design Environment User Guide, Product Version 5.1.41

My docs refer to HSPICE!

I'm pretty sure Andrew old posting (from 1999) was meant for SpectreS.

If you find out that you cannot enable this function because it is not
available for spectre, then you could consider including your file
using the Model Libraries... choise in Setup.

You can also use the Definition Files and the Stimulus Files in the
Simulation Files Setup. There are some limitations, but as long as you
don't explain what you want to do, it is hard to guess if these
limitations apply to your usage.

Thanks for all the responses. I will try your suggestions. My primary
goal was to be able to plot .OP values from a DC sweep simulation in
Spectre, e.g. plot gm of a device over a DC sweep, without having to do
a parametric analysis.

Er, I meant to say simulator _dependent_ not _independent_.
