Hi to everbody,
I'm a mechanical engineer specialized in CFD (computational Fluid
dynamics) and I have a problem and I hope you are able to help me.I must
project an industrial microwave used for ready meals. In next following
weeks I will have to start the simulations, and of course there isn't any
CFD code which has a specific package for electromagnetism. as you
probably known,in nature the Heat is transferred by rays, and in the
mechanical field we consider only the radiation, which lenght wave is between
the IR and UV rays.I thought to use a CFD code (FLUENT INC) to simulate the
heat exchager of my project, but for the electromagnetic device of my
problem (21 microwave antennas @ 2.5 GHz) i need an EM (ElectroMagnetic)
solver because fluent of course doesn't works in the wave lenght range
discussed above.the ideal solution should be an EM solver which could be
easyly matched with Fluent preprocessing .I mean I'd like to import the
mesh, the boundary conditions and the computational results
(temperture, entalpy ) into fluent .In ths way the computional mistakes
should be reduced. I wrote to a CFD newsgroup (sci.physics .computational.
fluid-dynamics) but nobody replied,maybe for a lack of knowledge.Looking @
the EM solvers avaiable,i understood that probably the most useful product
would be CONCERTO or QUICKWAVE3D.If someone uses these EM codes, I would be
very happy to listen to his/her opinion about this topic.
kind regards
edoardo
