LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) -- A Las Vegas man has been arrested for murder
by child abuse in the death of his 3-year-old son.
Jonathan Quisano, 26, has been charged with one count of murder by child
abuse and has been booked into the Clark County Detention Center.
The boy was identified today by the Clark County coroner's office as
Khayden Quisano. The cause and manner of death is still being investigated.
Metro reports that shortly after 6 p.m. Thursday the dispatch center
received a call from medical personnel who had transported a severely
injured child from a residence in the 4700 block of Trimwater Court
(near West Lone Mountain and N. Jones) to the UMC Trauma Center.
Arriving patrol officers called abuse and neglect detectives to assist
in the investigation.
Following additional notification by medical personnel that the injuries
were extremely life threatening, homicide detectives also responded to
the scene.
Khayden later died, and detectives arrested Quisano, the father of the
child.
Neighbors are having a tough time absorbing this happened to a toddler
in their community.
"What can a three year old do to make you mad enough to hurt it that
severely," said neighbor Terri Delaune.
It was a surprise for neighbors to see all the police cars. Many came to
check out the commotion.
"There were six or seven cars along the side of the road and everyone
just had their cell phones out," said neighbor Brianna Lange.
But most didn't even know what happened at the home until Saturday.
