I've nearly settled on buying the 70cm Samsung "World's Best TV

Ask a technician who works on a few other brands as well for an
opinion of their quality and serviceability.

I am a technician. Samsung make the best TVs you cna buy here where I
am. Period.

I don't get Samsung's to fix, because they do not break (at least not
when new, unlike some other makes I can mention).

Hi Alan,

I'm glad I took your advice, here I am 7 years later and until a few
minutes ago the television hasn't missed a beat. Samsung TVs are fantastic
as far as I'm concerned.

Anyway what happened was we noticed a pungent smell coming out the back of
the TV and then *blink* it went off. Waited a few minutes and tried turning
it back on, it clicks on briefly but then just goes off again.

So can anybody recommend a good TV repair service for my Samsung television
in Melbourne (northern suburbs).

thanks in advance.

Hi,

Sorry to break this to you, but Samsung TVs are crap.
Not all models, though. My parents have a Samsung for about 9 years and I
only had to replace tuner in it, but I have seen many Samsung with design
problems.
Rear projection are very bad -- leaky tubes.
Others have problems with weak picture tubes, completely blown power
supplies and other problems. Personally, I would go and buy LG.

It is difficult to comment on new models, we did not get any in for repairs
yet, so they may be very good or very bad. Time will tell.

As for repairs, I am in Oakleigh, if you want, you can give me a call on
0414 635 468.
