Hi gang,
I'm working on a few old projects. One is to construct an R-C bridge
and make some
admittance measurements of small signal BJTs. I plan to use the
technique of measuring yin with yout shorted, and yout with yin open.
One question I have regards yin: I plan to use standard voltage divider
bias with a bypassed emitter stabilization scheme. Should the two base
resistors be decoupled from the active device so that the value of y
obtained is only due to the base-emitter characteristics, or should the
measurement be made with the two base resistors simply connected to the
base as would be done in a functioning amp? In this case, I would
presume that the value of y obtained would be of the base-emitter in
parallel with the two resistors.
Thanks for the insight.
