MAX686 - something else?

Does Linear or somebody else make similar chip for DC-DC?
I like MAX686 features but hate to be bound with Maxim.

National do some quite nice boost inverters. Perhaps the LM2621, or another

one of the similar units might suit. It depends on what output voltage you
need (the 2671, is limited to 14v, when the Maxim chip goes up to 27v).
