Max distance extension cables

Anyone know whats the maximum distance i can extend the LCD data cables from
a laptop? I want the screen about 2m away.

SVGA Output to a Flat Screen Monitor should suffice, can be had in many
standard lengths. Unless you actually want to modify the existing cables
within your specific device.

Unfortunately I want to rip out and relocate the screen so it'll be an
extension of the existing ribbon. I can get shielded cable no probs, but do
you think the losses would be too great over 2m? I've been told on another
forum I'll be lucky to get 16 inches.
