Hello all,

When I use the command connectivity -> Marknet , and mark a net even
poly1 is also marked , (ex in cpoly caps and rpoly1 resistors) , so
please can some one share me a skill code with which I can make the
poly1 as a
non conducting path, when required.

Thanks in advance,
Cheers,
Sridhar.

Hi Sridhar,

You are using IC5141, aren't you ?
I'm just wondering whether what your are after is actually supported
in this version of Cadence, not 100% sure.
As far as I remember, IC5141 is capable of excluding a layer from the
mark Net but I don't recall it being capable of excluding a logical
operation of layers, i.e "POLY AND CAP_MARKER" or "POLY AND
RES_MARKER" ... etc.

To be confirmed/invalidate by experts ...

Cheers,
Riad.

Hi there, if I remember correctly, after u select mark net, pressing
the F3 key should pop out a window letting the you select the layer u
wanted to be mark. try it.

Thanks Riad , & praetorian for your replies,

Yes I tried the F3, But I donot see any option which lets me to select
or unselect layer to mark or unmark it .
The other option I see is Tools -> Technology File Manager -> Edit
Rules -> Double click on the Layer option a form is popped up where we
can select the layer to mark or unmark it,
But its a time taking process each time , so can some one suggest me
of how to set a bindkey for this or any other skill code which lets me
to select or deselect the poly layer for marking.
Cheers,
Sridhar.

Provided you're using an up to date IC5141 ISR (I don't recall precisely when
this changed), on the F3 options form for Mark Net, there's a "Via Layers used
by Mark Net" cyclic which can be set to "Select Via Layers" (if you already have
it set to "Select Via Layers", you may need to change it to one of the other
values and then back again (sorry, bad UI design). Then you'll get a popup form
asking you to disable certain via layers.

This is pretty much what you want, I think. Rather than writing SKILL code to
reimplement this, if you don't have it, I'd download the latest ISR (I suspect
it's in USR6 as well).

Regards,

Andrew.

Thanks Andrew , I could get that,
One more thing Andrew , I think I can download the latest ISR from
cadence source link website ,
But how to install this into my icfb , do I get permission todo that ,
as everything is supplied to me by our company,
like this I had seen many other versions available in the source link
website , I had downloaded one of them ,
But I didnot get the procedure of installing that

I didn't quite understand your question. To install the software, you need to
use "InstallScape". There's a tutorial on that on downloads.cadence.com

It's pretty straightforward.

You need to have somewhere you can download and install it though...

Andrew.
