Making meter labels

Can anyone recommend software for creating custom labels for
analog meters ?
I want to scan an existing 0-1mA scale and then change the digits.
The hard part is rotating the numbers to the correct angle, I can't get
it right with MS Word.
Maybe something like AutoSketch, but freeware.

Corel Draw.

You will see some examples at www.senet.com.au/~dunkleyj

Hi Fritz, real easy, done lots, use "Deltacad" free sample period, I
think 3 months. Scan old scale, import to deltacad, open new layer,
redraw scale, color if needed (green, red arcs) print.

Paint Shop Pro isn't freeware, but it does have a 'try 'n buy' version
commonly found on magazine CD's. Allows you to adjust angle and position of
letters & numbers, amongst other things.

If you wanted, you can find various cracks on the internet for PSP to make
it full version, although I will mention that this isn't legal.... ;-)

You can copy/cut & paste from Word into PSP, or import most image files,
including direct from the scanner/twain device..

Hope that helps

Just thought I'd also ask - if you have Word do you also have Publisher? or
didn't that come as part of your Office setup? Publisher should let you do
what you want also...

Try GIMP. It is a bit overkill sort of to photoshop what openoffice is to
word. Open office might work too, its drawing program is alright.

It comes in most flavours windows, mac(I think) and linux. Go to
www.gimp.org

As with most opensource stuff don't expect it to be obvious from the start.

If is just a one-off email me and I'll see what I can do.
