making an usb camera

Hi,
I'm want to make my own USB-camera (webcam) with a CCD sensor I bought.
It is just for a study-projekt (I know, lots of webcams are already
available).
Is there anybody who can give me a start: chipsets, info, schematics,
software, websites,.....
