https://www.ghacks.net/2011/04/11/can-you-remove-internet-explorer-8-from-windows-7/

To summarise:
Go to Control Panel -> Uninstall a program
Click \"Turn Windows features on or off\" on the *left* panel
Uncheck Internet Explorer 8 in the pop-up window.
Restart

OR

Control Panel -> Programs
Click \"Turn Windows features on or off\" on the *right* panel
Do same as above.

IDK if this uninstalls IE or just disables it.

To summarise:
Go to Control Panel -> Uninstall a program
* IncestousExcuse not listed, cannot be uninstalled this way.

Click \"Turn Windows features on or off\" on the *left* panel
Uncheck Internet Explorer 8 in the pop-up window.
* Listed IE 11, no matter - i unchecked it.
* There was a box for gadgets (what is that sh*t) which i also unchecked.

Restart

OR

Control Panel -> Programs
Click \"Turn Windows features on or off\" on the *right* panel
Do same as above.

IDK if this uninstalls IE or just disables it.
Since IE has always been so hidden/buried in the OS (not for those in
the EU), we will never know, not even thumbscrews will help to get
answers from M$.

Out of sight and out of mind; translated into Russian and back again
invisible and insane.

Thanks.

I know. That\'s just an intermediate step (at least one website
claims that IE can be uninstalled this way, which is nonsense)
but you obviously followed the next steps and successfully
uninstalled/disabled IdioticExcrement.

Click \"Turn Windows features on or off\" on the *left* panel
Uncheck Internet Explorer 8 in the pop-up window.
* Listed IE 11, no matter - i unchecked it.

That\'s a good one, and very appropriate. :)
