First off, I would like to thank the people who submitted ideas or
fixes to me; all were very helpful.
I am posting this mainly for archival purposes, so that if someone
else encounters the same problem, they have somewhere to start.
Original symptom was when TV was first turned on, it immediately shut
off. I fixed it by doing the following: replaced Horizontal Output
Transistor (H.O.T.), replaced open R56, 18K, 1/8 watt with a 1/4 watt
resistor and I replaced 13 capacitors on the high voltage/power supply
board which had either high ESR or extremely low values (1/2 of
normal).
