Magnavox TV help

I helped my brother move this weekend. His new wife has a 15 or 16
inch TV they said did not work and gave to me. (I am always taking
junk) It is a Magnavox and it says on the back it was made in February
1995. When you plug it it, it goes through some sort of display
advertising the selling points of the TV. It talks about how it can
find the remote for you, how it has a sleep timer, it goes through the
menu by itself and shows how you can change the tv settings. I cant
get it off this screen. They did not have a remote for it. I cant get
it to change volume or turn off with out unplugging it. I got an
aftermarket generic remote and tried all the codes with the manual to
the remote but nothing worked.

Does anyone have any idea what is wrong? SHould I junk it? It looks
brand new and I would like to use it in my daughter's room if I could
get it working cheaply.

ANy help is greatly appreciated!

There should be a MENU button on the front panel.

Go into the menu settings and turn DEMO mode off.

The menu button will not do anything. The power or channel buttons wont either.

Go into the menu settings and turn DEMO mode off.
