Hi folks:
I have a Mag monitor on the fritz. I paid $500.00 for it refurbished
a couple years back and it lasted 'bout 18 months. No authorized repair
shops in Jax, FL for this guy, and would cost a bundle to ship out not to
mention repair cost. It's been a couple years since I lit up my soldering
iron - but would like to try to repair. Symptoms: bright white vertical
line on CRT face, so I've got HV, but obviously no sweep. High pitch whine
accompanies this. Bad HOT? or yoke fried? Where should I check first?
Also need schem. if someone has or knows where I can find. (Tried SAMS, no
dice.) Any hints appreciated to avoid having to use monitor as boat anchor.
P.S I have HV probe and iso transformer, am certified tech with
enough sense to keep one hand in pocket, but no exp. on TVs, monitors.
Thanks.
