Just got my HP 5370C scanner going. It was flashing the scanning lamp 6
times, then off, then 6 times ... endlessly. The software reported a
scanner error. A browse of the HP website revealed that it was probably a
hardware problem. So, what the heck ... its out of warranty, so I took it
apart. Did not see anything obvious. I remade all of the connectors and
took one socketed chip out and pushed it back in. Put it back together and
it works! Lucky me.
