Don't know if this is the right dg for this topic. I am looking for an
audio transmitter and headset combination that can be hooked up to a TV.
Its main use is to allow a person to listen to the audio transmission
through the headset with the TV audio turned off so as not to disturb
others in the same room. I know I saw such a gadget years ago but
cannot remember its particulars. Thanks for any suggestions.

RCA makes a nice set of 900mhz cordless headphones. I own a pair and I can
also walk anywhere in the house and still hear the tv.

Thanks for your response. Do you have to leave the sound on the TV
itself on or can you turn it off or all the way down so that the sound
comes out of only the headset? If it is the second option, please
inform me of the model number.

If you have raw audio outputs, [Most televisions have them today] You can
turn the sound off.

Infra Red headphones are available - plug the IR xmitter into the headphone
socket of the TV and away you go - no wires to fall over
