Looking for MAN-10A 7 segment LED display

One segment of the display on my early model Fluke 3000A DVM stopped
functioning yesterday, so I am
looking for a replacement. Has anyone on the group got an old Monsanto
MAN-10A display, the ones with the LED arrays visible, not the later
ones with the 'light pipe' over the LEDs? I would be interested in one
[or more] display, a Fluke 3000A display assembly or even an old, non-
working Fluke 3000A for parts. Also would appreciate pointers to other
groups that might be able to help. I tried Google and eBay without any
luck.

Oops, I should have said "Fluke 8000A" !
Mouser lists this as a replacement:

I believe that the MAN-1 is a pin-compatible predecessor to the
MAN-10A. Check out the auction for the MAN-1A on eBay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/MONSANTO-MAN1A-RED-LED-DISPLAY-NOS-MAN-1A-/390126440901?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5ad55911c5

There is another auction for a single MAN-1, but it has a higher
starting bid.

Yes, I saw both of those, but I think the MAN-1 is significantly
dimmer than the MAN-10A. Still, it is an option to get it running
again.

Vague data from an unreliable memory. As I remember it, General
Instrument took over Monsanto's Opto stuff (and it's gone to become
sombody else since then), and they went to 4 digit numbers when
other colors became available, so there may be compatible displays
under a new number.

My suggestion is to find the website for the major Opto manufacturers
and see if they have a cross reference guides for their displays.

dig, dig, dig. Found a 1986 GI Opto databook.

Looks like a MAN72A or MAN3x20A (where x is 4, 6, 8 or 9 for Green,
Orange, Yellow, or high effiency Red) might be a sub if you can
deal with the thicker package. These are .3 inch instead of .27 inch
digits, with a .2 inch thick package instead of the MAN1A's .12 inch.
The MAN72,etc. had no connect on pin 9 while the MAN1 uses it as an
common anode in addition to pins 3 and 14.

Seems odd that the whole thing would go tits up all at once. Have you
swapped one of the others into the "dead" position to verify that the
driver circuitry is still functioning? I have some HP 5082-7760
numeric red LED blocks if that'll replace what you have.

Thanks for the offer.
A friend on the internet has just found a duff 8000A and is sending it
to me as a parts 'donor', so I hope it has a good display since it is
of the slightly later 'light pipe' style and I would not want to mix
and match the displays in one instrument unless it is unavoidable.
As far as the fault on my instrument, it has a failure if the segment
'b' in the middle digit [3-1/2 digit display]. Since the low side
multiplexing has 1 drive to the 'b' segments of all 4 digits in
parallel and the high side multiplex drives the common anode of each
digit, the problem has to be in the connection from the segment buss
through the LED of the segment to the common anode buss in the one
digit because all other digits and segments work correctly showing
that the multiplex drivers are functioning normally. The soldering of
the display to the circuit board is good, leaving the open circuit to
be somewhere inside the one display package.
All the best for the Christmas season to all who follow these NGs and
a special thanks to all those who have given me pointers and offers of
parts to fix my DVM on and off line!
All the best!
