I was trying to install a headphone jack on a 1985 RCA TV/monitor but after
reading some information about some older TV's being "hot
chassis" designs I decided to give up on that idea.
On the back of the TV is a connector similar to a coaxial cable TV connector
that is labeled Stereo Adapter.
The manual (yep, still have it) states,
"Connection for optional RCA Model BSA020 Stereo Adapter. When a TV station
is transmitting BTSC stereo, and the BSA020 adapter with a stereo amplifier
and speakers are connected to this jack, you can enjoy true stereo sound.
See the BSA020 adapter Owner's Manual for more complete information. Do
not plug any other devices into this jack"
Anyone know what this adapter is? Is there something I could use to make
this work for a stereo mini jack for headphones?
