Does anyone know how I can get hold of qty 8
HGTP12N60A4. They are a 600v, SMPS SERIES N-CHANNEL IGBT Manufactured by
Fairchild. The belong to a Lincoln DC welder that had a problem with
inertia

Hello Nigel,
I am assuming that you have contacted Lincoln already.

But if you haven't here is the contact info from a
brochure that I just happened to have on my desk.
Lincoln Electric
35 Bryant Street
Padstowe
Sydney 2211
Ph 02 9772 7222
fax 02 9792 1387
Craig Tyler is a very helpfull man to talk to.

I am guessing from your "inertia" comment that this
is a little inverter style welder that was dropped.
Which machine is it? Just interested.

After you get an out of this world price from Lincoln
or from one of their agents like Silverwater Welding,
have a look here
http://www.fairchildsemi.com/pf/HG/HGTP12N60A4.html
They are $2.80 US each.
I see they are also giving away free samples for the asking.

Get your mates to ask for some samples also. You might
need to go through a few flashes and bangs while you
fix the welder.

Regards,
John Crighton
Sydney

Usually inertia would refer to 'I hit the brakes, and the truck stopped ...
but the welder didnt' problem.

Inertia refers to the heatsink that detached itself when the said welder hit
the floor whilst operating
