I am looking for a clp 3453150 p3
3.7v 2500mah Rechargeable Lithium Polymer Battery For a cheap ebook
reader but the only place I can find it is alibaba minimum 1000 units.
Any ideas? can find other batteries but most are too thick or wide.
it is 3,4x53x150.

Many of the parts on alibaba are also available in small qty from
aliexpress.

That's often the case. Maybe some different search terms would help.
For example, if you find that the same model of battery is used in
another device, searching for batteries for use with that other
device might bring up the ones you're after.

any wiggle room? will 3.5 * 55 * 85 fit ?
Yes, 60x110 would also but the thickness not much leeway,
original long and skinny but there is a speaker in the corner that stops
going wider unless it is shorter.
Another problem is reader batteries are simple, two leads. tablet
batteries have 4 leads to work out

Odd, I have a tablet battery here on the bench in front of me. It has
only two leads. It came out of a Pendo Pad (I think) which was a 7 or 8
inch Android tablet. It is 72.5mm x 92mm x 2.5mm so not going to be
useful for you. I don't even know if this battery works, the Pendo Pad
it came from sure didn't. I've been meaning to dump it in one of those
battery recycle places but haven't got a round tuit yet. ;-)

No, is that the size of the aliexpress one shown below although it is
1600 mAh as opposed to mine being 2500 mAh
original long and skinny but there is a speaker in the corner that stops

I think I will give up, I found one that is probably suitable on
aliexpress but the landed cost to me is around $40.00 so I think I will
wait till Aldi has another one as it won't be much dearer

OK, but I was suggesting you look to see if the same battery model is
used in another device, then search for batteries (cells, for the misfits
out there :) ) to match that specific other device.

It's not always easy, but if they are listed on Alibaba but not elsewhere
it could just be that they are normally sold for use in another device.

Using only the battery number in google or ebay only gets alibaba no other
devises no nothing.

It is in a cheap Aldi device,

Can be a problem. I had the same problem with one of their
mobile phones which does have a user replaceable battery.
Didn't try all that hard tho, it likely is used in other phones.

Makes me wary of buying Aldi electronic devices tho.

ans I would get nowhere with them, it is not a user replaceable device, my
only hope is to stumble apon the nearest thing in a name brand device, but
so far no luck

Am I the only person who gets annoyed at the way almost every *cell* is
described as a 'battery' these days?

I understand it - "cell" has quite a few other common uses these days
(biological, idealogical, telephony, imprisonment, structural, ...)
whereas "battery" doesn't really. It's almost never used to mean a group
of things any more and other than 'assault and battery' most people
haven't heard it used in other ways.

Bet quite a few have heard of battery chickens and plenty of gun batterys
too.

That said the scientist / literalist part of me still gets a little
annoyed every time I see 'battery' used in place of cell. I remember other
students getting a right old telling off if they confused the two in
science class. I only did it once.

It's a shame that we don't have another commonly used word for electrical
storage unit other than cell or battery IMO.

Fairly minor point IMO. Most do in fact call single cell
batterys batterys. Only the most anal call them cells.

Still, the definition of words changes over time and I've been around for
a reasonably long time. <shrug - ouch!

Just buy a phone that uses AA or AAA cells (a battery is more than one
cell BTW)

Note the two or more bit.....

Pity about the other ones that don’t include that.

Maybe some different search terms would help.
For example, if you find that the same model of battery is used
in
another device, searching for batteries for use with that other
device might bring up the ones you're after.

I tried the querie with just the description and not the part
no, got
loads but none of a similar size, tried reader and tablet
batteries of
other kinds still no joy.

OK, but I was suggesting you look to see if the same battery
model is
used in another device, then search for batteries (cells, for the
misfits
out there :) ) to match that specific other device.

It's not always easy, but if they are listed on Alibaba but not
elsewhere
it could just be that they are normally sold for use in another
device.

Using only the battery number in google or ebay only gets alibaba no
other devises no nothing.

It is in a cheap Aldi device,

Can be a problem. I had the same problem with one of their
mobile phones which does have a user replaceable battery.
Didn't try all that hard tho, it likely is used in other phones.

Makes me wary of buying Aldi electronic devices tho.

ans I would get nowhere with them, it is not a user replaceable
device, my only hope is to stumble apon the nearest thing in a name
brand device, but so far no luck

Just buy a phone that uses AA or AAA cells

Makes a lot more sense to get a Nokia, they use very
few battery types so they are dirt cheap to replace.

I do in fact have a phone that can use AA batterys.

(a battery is more than one cell BTW)

Wrong.

No, sorry but you are wrong on this one...

Nope.

Try this one...

cells that convert stored chemical energy into electrical energy."

Nope, because I am not.

The technical description is clear - two or more cells. It is the common
or laymans description that you are relying on - not the technical one!

Wrong with the manufacturers of the batterys.

Then there's the whole reason a collection of cells was originally called a
battery. The word itself means a group of things.

A battery of guns is a more than one gun.
A battery of tests is more than one test.
Battery hen farming is multiple hens in cages.

In all instances the word "battery" denotes multiples of something. In the
case of electrical storage devices multiple cells. Just because the layman
doesn't understand this and has taken to calling cells batteries doesn't
make it right.

That said however, since when did being right be a prerequisite for a word
or phrase entering the Engish language?
