Looking for a quick + dirty 2 channel remote

Hi,
I need to control 2 relays remotely (probably IR). Maplins do a
transmitter/reciever kit that looks ideal, but they cant deliver for at
least a couple of months! Ive found all sorts of schematics on the net, but
they either seem too simple (one channel only) or too complex (pic
processors and the like).
I need a simple "button 1 down, relay 1 on, button 2 down, relay 2 on"
operation. No huge range, not secure or anything, and will probably only be
used at night. Any pointers?
Thanks
James

Sounds _exactly_ like our RC51-IRPKG with 8 relays.

Looks nice, but a bit ott and pricey for what I need - I only need the 2
channels. Thanks anyway!

The 2 channel looks ideal, only prob. is I'm in the UK (missed that on my
o.p.) and they will only ship over $100 orders internationally... henk!

Just done a 4 button design for a motorised TV unit in a hotel. It's based
on Maplin's (Holtek chips) HT12D rx and HT12A tx (+455kHz resonator). The
excellent 38kHz IR reciever module (Sharp) is from RS and is stock number
577-897. (All were in stock as of last Saturday!).
The 4 off (HT12D) outputs pins, latch the sent button press and are
standard 0-5V logic levels so you don't have to use a micro. (Range is
20')

Hey I'm taking an EE elective and for our final project we're doing
somes simple IR. We're using the Holtek H12A and H12D chips. They're
relatively slow but perfectly suited for what you're doing. I just built
the transmitter today and it fits on a 2x3 protoboard. The chips are
pretty easy to use too.
