Hi All,
I need help in fixing a Loewe Arcada 8684 100Hz tv. Not too sure what
chassis it is but the sales docket says it is a Media Plus Q2500.
Two schematics were given with the set Q2300 & Q2500. The Q2300 shows the
slim line silver remote (which I have) but the power supply matches the
Q2500 schematic with the black remote with a sliding flap to cover the
service buttons.
A violent storm went through our suburb and I'm not sure if it has spiked
the set even though it wasn't on - not even in the standby mode.
The set is about 4 years old.
On switching on the set, the red standby led is lit and the green "on" led
keeps flashing. When pressing the " power on" button on the remote you can
hear the start relay in the set operate and then release. The set then
starts hiccupping with both leds flashing.
The diodes and Fets in the secondary side of the P/supply test out OK and
so do the diodes and the main transistor in the horz. output stage. (no dead
shorts)
All electros in the P/Supply and horz. stage have been checked with an ESR
meter.
The BPlus rail goes to about 14 volts then dies slowly - nothing when loaded
with a globe.
I have disconnected the BPlus to the horz. output stage and loaded it down
with a 100 watt globe with negative results.
I am reading about 124 to about 150 Ohms on the 5, 8, & 12Volt rails to
ground - is this normal loading on those rails?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Don.
