License is too slow...

Is there a way to speed up the license checking process? Kind of lock
some feature to my machine, such that the software does't check for it
all the time? We use to access the licenses inside the LAN, but due to
some cadence delays to renew our license, we are accessing it through
internet in another server. Accessing this way, it becomes TOOOO SLOW!
Kind of 3 minutes to begin a simulation in Virtuoso/AMSDesigner. Seems
like the software check for the license in all the steps, netlisting,
compiling, elaborating, etc, etc...

Thanks in advance.

Assuming your license agreement entitles you to use licenses over the WAN, there
are various things you can do:

1. Only put the smallest number of license servers in the CDS_LIC_FILE variable.
2. Ideally don't use LM_LICENSE_FILE - if you do, you can set CDS_LIC_ONLY
(there are sourcelink solutions for this).

I'd be surprised if all the steps are checking licenses. For example,
compilation doesn't check a license.

You'd be best to talk to your local Cadence support, as this is the kind of
thing that is best to debug with support rather than me trying to guess your
setup...

Andrew.
