LED Tail lights

I'm looking into retrofitting my vehicle with LED tail lights. Can anyone
offer any advice on what would be required to hook up LEDs to a 12v system?

Note, I'm new to electronics.

Silicon Chip magazine had an article dealing with LEDS for stop and tail
lamps. earlier this year I think.

Try this web site, they have LED lamps that require nothing more than
unplugging the incandescent lamp, then plugging in the new LED lamp, in
other words, direct replacements.

Sorry I got a Saturn , the throw-away car that doesn't last long
enough for the lights to burn out .
